Year 10 Dance Students Explore New Works
Year 10 GCSE Dance students have just finished choreographing their own pieces and begun learning their contemporary solos in preparation for their exams next year.
They have taken the challenge well, focusing on specific timing and new, complex movements as well as coming back after class to practise more, showing true dedication for their subject.
As well as developing their practical work, the students are constantly learning about new dance works within the industry. They have studied hip-hop, contemporary, samba and ballet and their newest addition is inclusive contemporary, from Artificial Things by Lucy Bennet (pictured below).
This focuses on dancers from all backgrounds, including some who use wheelchairs to perform. The students have been intrigued, worked well and are showing what true artists they are.
