Francesca Sheppard

I joined the Harris Federation what seems a lifetime ago. I started working in a different academy and was given the chance to develop my practice, learn from experienced peers and was promoted to Assistant Principal.

From there I was put forward on the Fast Track to Principal Programme where my leadership skills were stretched and I learnt more about whole-school leadership. When the opportunity arose to take what I'd learnt and develop another school in the Federation I was promoted to Vice Principal and came to work at Harris Garrard Academy.

Since joining Harris Garrard, I've had the chance to complete my NPQH, lead country-wide initiatives in English with the NPQLL, and last year was given the chance to join the 'Inspiring Leader's Programme' where I could learn from other leaders outside of an educational remit. I don't know where my career will take me next, but I imagine it will be with support of Harris Garrard and the wider Federation.
