Clubs, Activities, Trips
We offer students a wide and rich co-curricular programme designed to nurture, develop and stretch their talents and interests.
School clubs – how to sign up
Our clubs offer a huge range of opportunities covering Sport, Creative, Mindfulness and Academia – with numerous benefits for students including improved academic performance, enhanced communication skills and opportunities for personal growth.
Clubs take place after school from 3.10pm and finish at 4.10pm unless otherwise stated. To see the current co-curriculum programme for years 7 to 11 simply click on the link below.
Being a part of a lunch time or after school club brings a sense of belonging, provides opportunities to build critical life skills, adopt broader perspectives, opens career pathways, develops self-esteem, teamwork and social skills.
Many of the co-curricular activities are open to students across both the primary and secondary phase. This provides a chance for students to develop social skills by communicating with pupils of all ages.
Educational trips and visits
Visits and trips give students the chance to develop their learning outside the school environment – helping them to link their classroom learning to the outside world. Trips and visits make their classroom learning more memorable, and motivate students with their studies too.
Here are just some a few examples of the kinds of trips students enjoy:
- Our Business students participate in the annual Whittington Tour, exploring the City of London and career pathways
- Geographers participate in fieldwork for their GCSEs, gaining experience of urban environments and river exploration
- Reward trips for students include laser tag, ice skating, go karting and Chessington World of Adventures
- Our Religious Studies students visit places of worship to develop empathy, respect and understanding of different religions and cultures
- Our many Personal Development trips for all year groups build up students' experiences, cultural capital and character.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
We encourage our Year 9 and Year 12 students to enrol on the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, which they are expected to complete by the end of the summer term.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award provides a framework for students to get recognition for their commitment to bettering themselves and their communities. There are four aspects to the award:
- Volunteering
- Physical
- Skill
- Expedition
Participants design a programme that is unique to them and receive recognition for what they want to do. The Award is accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, ability, ethnicity, or gender.
Taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award enhances any application to post-secondary education, and is a significant addition to any CV because it shows the student's commitment and character.
