School Games Mark
The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme which celebrates schools' commitment to developing competitive sport within their school and community. We are proud to be assessed as the highest level, Platinum. For the fourth year running we are The Bexley Indoor Athletic Champions.
Primary Science Quality Mark
This award celebrates our commitment to excellence in science leadership, teaching and learning. We have achieved the ‘Outreach’ Standard, which highlights our commitment to supporting and sharing best practice in Science with other schools.

International Schools Award
Harris Garrard has been awarded Intermediate Level of the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom. The International School Award celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education.
Developing international work is enriching education for our pupils. Our collaborative projects with our partner school, Colegio San Jorge in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, is just one of the ways we are bringing the world into their classrooms.
Woodlands Trust Green Tree Schools Award – Gold Standard
This is a testament to how we look after and interact with our local environment through our science programme of study, Forest School lessons, Nature Nurture sessions and outdoor learning days.
Over several years, we have nurtured our environment by planting trees and maintaining a diverse array of habitats. We are committed to ensuring that this generation of students understands the importance the environment has on maintaining healthy lifestyles and that children have a secure knowledge and awareness of how to protect the environment for the future.
RHS School Gardening Award – Level 4
We are so lucky to have a dedicated area as a ‘Kitchen Garden’ where we grow fruit and vegetables all year round as part of our science learning, Eco-council and Gardening Club. We then take what we grow to the kitchen or make chutneys and jams from the produce.
Public speaking – winners
We are proud to be the current winners of the Harris Federation ‘Articulate like an Environmentalist’ public speaking event for prmary schools, on the topic of environmental sustainability. Children from Year 4 blew the competition away with their presentation in front of a live audience.
