Year 5 Explore Virtual Learning

We love the chance to leave the classroom and head out on trips that help us to expand our horizons.

Our Year 5s have been learning about Space this term and while the Harris Garrard Space Programme is not yet up and running, we wanted to find a way to take our Year 5 students up into the stars!

Our students loved the chance to use virtual headsets to fly through outer space and learn more about the solar system, the planets in it and build a contextual understanding of our place in the cosmos. We managed to do this all without leaving the comfort of our sports hall!

"It was so much fun! I'd never really realised how far the planets are from each other or how huge Saturn is!" said Charlie, Year 5. "Did you know if there was an ocean big enough Saturn is so light it would float?"
