We recently hosted our last Project Thamesmead event of the year. Focusing on the Olympics with running, throwing and jumping events. It gave over 110 children from 3 primary schools the opportunity to represent their school and excel!

Meet Big Clive - Our Cuddly Attendance Mascot

Meet Big Clive, our cuddly sausage dog mascot, pictured with Elise (left) and Saada from Creative Voice 3, the tutor group with the best attendance last term.

“Clive goes to the tutor group with the best attendance and we’ve won him two terms in a row now,” says Elise. Everyone wants Big Clive for their form, says Saada from C3. “It’s more competitive than you might think so people don’t want to miss any school.”

One of his biggest fans is Charley. “Big Clive is clever and watches everyone working, it means our tutor group is the best. He sits on the desk and we all pat his head as we walk in,” she says.

Although at present there’s only an attendance mascot in Creative Voice, our other hubs (Active Science, World Studies and Enterprise) are thinking of getting their own!

We’ve also introduced smart enamel crest badges (see below) that are awarded to all staff and teachers with a perfect attendance during the term. Look out for them on staff and students across the school.
