About our Sixth Form

Welcome to Harris Garrard Sixth Form. At Harris Garrard, we believe education transforms lives.

Our Sixth Form is built on three simple, powerful values: Rigour, Resilience and Respect.
They shape how we study, how we lead, and how we prepare our students to succeed, whatever their starting point.

We are unapologetically ambitious for our young people. We expect the best, and we give the best in return.

Rigour – excellence every day

At Harris Garrard Academy Sixth Form, excellence isn’t optional - it’s expected.  We combine academic precision with relentless ambition.

Our teachers are subject specialists who challenge, stretch and inspire, turning potential into performance.  Lessons are purposeful, feedback is immediate, and every student knows what success looks like and how to reach it.

We open doors to top universitieselite apprenticeships and professional careers, ensuring our students leave with confidence, credibility and choice.

Resilience – the power to persevere

We teach our students that progress comes through perseverance; at Harris Garrard Academy Sixth Form, resilience means never refusing to give up - even when the work is demanding.

Through expert mentoring, academic coaching and tailored support, we build self-belief and independence.  Our students learn to think deeply, work with discipline and rise after setbacks.

Our students do not just leave with grades, but with the grit and mindset to thrive in life’s toughest arenas.

Respect – character and community

Respect is the foundation of everything we do.  We respect ourselves, each other and the opportunities education brings.

Our Sixth Formers are role models across the Academy — leading through integrity, kindness and maturity.  They give back through community projects, leadership roles and mentoring younger students.

This is an environment where every student is known, valued and empowered to lead because character matters as much as achievement.

Transforming futures through social mobility

We believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not  and we’re here to change that.
Our mission is to make sure every capable young person, whatever their background, has the chance to go further, faster.

We provide expert guidanceuniversity preparation, and professional exposure so that ambition is matched with access.

Our students secure places at Russell Group universitieshigh-level apprenticeships, and competitive careers across London and beyond.

At Harris Garrard, we don’t just prepare students for their next step, we prepare them for a future without limits.

Beyond the classroom

Life at Harris Garrard Sixth Form is dynamic, challenging and full of opportunity.
We believe education extends far beyond the exam hall,  it’s about developing confidence, independence and character.

Every student takes part in a weekly one-hour Elective Programme, choosing from a wide range of enrichment activities designed to broaden horizons and build new skills, from public speaking and debating to creative arts, community action and fitness.

Our Sixth Formers also play a vital role in the wider academy community through peer reading initiatives and mentoring schemes, supporting both primary and secondary students as role models and academic mentors.

You’ll have access to:

  • Dedicated Sixth Form team fully focused on the academic and pastoral support of our students.
  • A dedicated sixth form spaces including a digital computer study space, common room, silent study areas, and an on-site gym for sixth form students.
  • Access to the Harris Experience Plus, offering one-to-one personal statement support and wider learning opportunities for those wishing to apply to Russell Group Universities.
