Children's Play, Learning & Development
At the start of Year 10, students can enroll on the Level 2 BTEC First in Children’s Play, Learning and Development. This is a very challenging course made up of three core units. We have years of experience of delivering the course and work hard to ensure that every student can reach or surpass their target grade.
We aim to inspire and enthuse students to consider a career in early years, or related sectors, where knowledge of child development is relevant. The course gives students the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of child development and using play to promote child development - and helps them develop skills needed in the early years sector, for example.
This qualification can support progression to a more specialised Level 3 vocational or academic course, such as in Early Years, Health and Social Care or Psychology, or an apprenticeship, and also gives students the potential opportunity, in due course, to enter employment.
Students will follow a detailed assessment plan throughout the delivery of their two-year course where they will be held to account over coursework deadlines.
